1889. Jean, a young inventor, comes from Le Havre to Paris to participe to an inventor contest at the Universal Exposition of Paris, where the Tour Eiffel was inaugurated. There, he meets a young African girl, Nadia, who is pursued by a woman and her two friends who are looking for her Blue Water, a mysterious necklace that is the only souvenir of Nadia's past -- she's an orphan, and she was raised in a circus. Jean will help Nadia escape from the strange trio and will make her a friend.

Jean takes Nadia to Le Havre, but his uncle and his aunt, who use to raise him, don't want her at home. So, he decides to go on a trip with her, in order to discover her past, the continent from where she came, Africa. They leave in a small plane conceived by Jean.

Jean's plane wrecks in water. Jean and Nadia are saved by a battleship of which mission is to kill a mysterious monster who is the cause of many wreckages in the Army. The battleship will be attacked by this monster...

After the battleship's wreckage, Jean and Nadia are taken in the Nautilus, the fabulous submarine which was mistaken for a monster. The children can't learn the purpose of its crew... Who is the mysterious Captain Nemo ? Who is that girl who's helping him, Electra ? Jean gets his plane repaired and they can leave the Nautilus...

A close friend of Jean in the Nautilus crew, Mr. Fate, will die in order to let the rest of the Nautilus survive. Jean and Nadia hate Nemo for having let this happen. But they know that it was the only solution...

The Nautilus goes to a cemetery under water, where Jean will discover the grave of the father he was searching for years. A kinda depressing episode, but added with episode 15, it makes a very moving experience.
